Dissertation

The topic of the doctoral thesis must be assignable to a subject offered at DGE, focused on Geoenergy, Reservoir, Production or Drilling Engineering.

At the beginning of the thesis, the topic and the supervisor of the doctoral thesis must be given to the governing body responsible for study matters. A doctoral thesis is an independently written scientific /academic thesis. It is the final written work and must be submitted for assessment to the governing body responsible for study matters.

Requirements

The requirements for the admission to the doctoral examination are:

• Positive completion of the examinations of all the courses specified in the individual curriculum for the doctoral (PhD) program
• Positive assessments of the doctoral thesis

Doctoral Examination

The doctoral examination (defense of the doctoral thesis) is a public general examination before a committee. The defense of the doctoral thesis includes a scientific presentation by the candidate of the contents and results of the doctoral thesis, as well as a discussion and questioning about the contents and results of the doctoral thesis, and the thematically related scientific environment.
